Dry-Dock Planning & Yard Tendering

The Dry-Dock module in E-PMS runs a docking end to end: the crew nominate work items, the office approves them, tenders the approved scope to shipyards, compares the offers, awards one and plans the docking against the class bottom-inspection due window. On the ship it is a single follow-along list; in the office it is a full workspace.

Status: the Dry-Dock module is in active development. The workflow below is in place and its project-management side is being extended for the first commissioning.

Nominate and Triage

Anyone aboard can add a docking item, directly or from the equipment tree, and withdraw their own proposals. The office sees the fleet's proposals grouped by vessel and approves or declines each one with a reason. The crew see the decision on their next exchange. Only approved items can be tendered.

Tender to Yards

Pick the vessel to dock, shortlist yards on a map or from a list filterable by name, port, country and dock size, and request quotations: one RFQ per shortlisted yard, each carrying the approved items. Yards price the items on an online quote form, so offers come back structured, with per-item prices, a docking window and validity, instead of as PDFs to be re-keyed.

Compare and Award

Quoted offers for a vessel are laid side by side, cheapest total first, with the cheapest price per line highlighted, a planned-budget row with variance, and the docking window, validity and contact of each yard. Awarding an offer sets it as accepted and its total becomes the vessel's docking cost.

Plan Against the Class Window

A planning timeline draws each vessel's completed, in-dock and planned dockings and in-water surveys against the regulatory due window, with the latest permissible date marked. Plan a docking from the awarded offer, which fills the yard, window and cost. Saving a docking as completed signs off the vessel's open hull-inspection work orders and raises the next cycle. Completed dockings are history: corrected, never deleted.
